The PRO Synth Engine is designed to provide the absolute best-sounding sounds from stock MainStage. Consisting of 102 individual instrument sounds or “patches”, each and every patch has carefully curated parameters custom designed to respond in two dimensions to the mod-wheel and (more subtly) aftertouch.

The PRO Synth Engine also features four specially purposed sets consisting of 97 combinations, efficiently built around aliased layers of the 102 patches. Each combination responds to the mod-wheel and aftertouch with significantly more dimensionality than individual patches do alone. You will hear sounds moving from the background to the foreground based on the position of the mod wheel, the aftertouch, as well as how hard you strike the keys.

★ Pads / Strings: 36 combinations of warm & analog, to bright & digital, and including classical flavors such as strings, choirs and organs; this premium collection of pads is focused on giving the dedicated “second keys” player everything they need to serve the song in a big way.
★ Movement Combinations: 22 combinations sometimes layered with pads, and including a non-animated versions for builds. This set of patches can add animation to nearly any genre of music.
★ EDM Combos: 26 combinations focused on performing modern Electronic Dance Music sounds, live. This set thinks the way EDM music is produced, by adding or subtracting one or two elements at a time, as well as creating “builds” and “breaks”.
The “secret sauce” of the Synth Engine is the X-Y pad which displays current mod-wheel and aftertouch values. This visual feedback helps you understand how your hardware responds and gives you insight into the synth parameters mapped. Before long you will find this real-time control becoming second-nature to you. You will intuitively respond to what is happening in the moment, without having to think about which knob to grab or specifically how to modulate your sound. This design keeps you in the moment!
Stage Piano PRO
Perhaps best of all, the piano engine is instantly available to layer with all of the above patches and combinations at any moment. PRO supports six piano instruments. It comes configured with two stock, and four from Native Instruments (Grandeur, Alicias, Giant, Maverick) although we’re here to help you configure you favorites. All these pianos route through a dedicated piano bus and features
★ Mod-wheel mapped to most usable range of piano color
★ One-touch 8va + Shimmer button (patent pending)
★ Two reverbs with up to 100% feedback (controlled by mod-wheel): Infinite Hold, Infinity Verb
★ Three compressors: Opto, FET and VCA, which can be used in any combination
★ Six EQ Curves: Thin, Grand, Calming, Brighten, Presence, Lo-Fi-ifier
★ Six reverbs: Stock, Chamber, Medium Hall, Nice Hall, Piano Pad, Shimmer

FAQ #1) What if I don’t have Valhalla DSP effects installed on a particular machine? Good question! In the IK architecture, effects all reside at the concert level on dedicated effects send channels. Each channel has a stock MainStage effect substitute already installed and configured, but turned off. In the case that any (or all) Valhalla effects are not available to you, simply navigate to the concert level and activate the stock MainStage effect every place you see a missing Valhalla effect. This provides peace of mind to you, so the shows goes on!
FAQ #2) What if I also don’t have any of the Native Instruments pianos? Great question! For this case, we include the PRO STOCK (nK2 & tOSC) template. This is kind of an intermediate step between our LEGACY to PRO versions. This template retains the full functionality of PRO, substituting stock effects plugins and pianos, and even comes ready to accept you hardware keyboard into the piano engine. PRO STOCK ensures than anyone can dive right into our PRO template.

There are a lot of things to like about this template. All of the layered patches are clean and do not sound muddy. None of the highs are bright and shrill. There are may arps that are tasteful and not overbearing. The seamless integration of stock pianos as well as the 3rd party plugins sound fantastic. I have used many popular templates for Mainstage and this is very well done.
The synths, pianos, strings, reverbs all are tuned and EQ in a way that sounds so rich and proffesional. I can see they took the time and effort to produce such quality of a product. All i can say is thank you, I’m loving this template.
